14 July 2026
Seventeen PNTA members enjoyed a lively and informative visit to Dr Beynon’s Bug Farm in St Davids on 14 July 2026. From the moment we arrived, the team made us feel welcome and gave a clear, engaging introduction to the Bug Farm’s mix of conservation work, research, and visitor attractions.
The Up Close Experience was a real highlight. Members gathered around to learn how invertebrates are perceived by the public and to see and handle tropical species at close quarters. The presenter’s enthusiasm made the session both fun and unexpectedly captivating.

Afterwards, everyone explored the site at their own pace — the Tropical Bug Zoo, Museum, Bug Farm Trail, Nature Recovery Centre, and the History of Pembrokeshire Farming Exhibition offered plenty to discover. The Grub Kitchen Café opened especially for us, providing drinks and cakes and a relaxed chance to chat.
We finished with a few final questions and a browse in the gift shop before heading home. Members spoke very positively about the visit, praising the knowledgeable staff, thoughtful displays, and the Bug Farm’s clear commitment to conservation.

A thoroughly enjoyable morning and a welcome addition to our 2026 programme.
