What we do

Winter Talks

We provide monthly talks, which are free to members, from autumn through to spring. Some talks are National Trust related but we cover a wide range of other topics. Refreshments are always served after the Talks to enable members to meet and chat.

Summer Day Trips

In the summer we organise day trips, to National Trust and other locations which members will find attractive and interesting. Pembrokeshire’s remoteness limits the number of locations which are readily accessible but we try to ensure the trips do not involve too many hours sitting in a coach. Coach trips are a great way to get to know other people.

Summer Walks

There are three summer evening walks, also free. The walks are mainly at National Trust properties in the County and are led by Trust staff who work at the site. We are able to appreciate the sites and  have explained  the work being carried out there. After the walks members, if they wish, can take part in a pub supper together.

Annual Tour

Each year we arrange a four or five day short holiday which this year will visit Yorkshire. We shall visit several National Trust properties but also other places of interest. In recent years our Tours have been to, Northumberland, North Wales,  Devon and Cornwall, Kent, East Anglia and Northern Ireland. The Tour is the highlight of our year and is always well supported.

Biannual Lunches

Every other year we hold a themed Lunch. It usually relates to a Pembrokeshire related anniversary and we have a guest speaker well versed on the theme.

Donations to the National Trust in Pembrokeshire

Apart from the pleasure of our events programme, it enables us to raise funds and make and annual donation to the National Trust in Pembrokeshire. These have totalled over £30,000 since our formation in 1998. Each year we tell the Trust how much we can give and they provide a list of possible uses. Over the years  we have helped the Trust in a wide variety of ways providing much needed equipment or plants for many properties.
